blouse wears, take two.

Some of you might have seen the first edition of blouse wears - but Jane + I thought it would be fun to start a little project where we share what we wear -- and, how each of wears it. Introducing -- the second edition(!) of blouse wears: the striped shirt.

Stripes! Here at blouse -- stripes are totally in this spring. Jane and I each wore one of our favorite striped shirts (that's right, there's more!) to show how we each wear stripes.

Jane's adorable short sleeved teal + white vintage top got all dressed up with a tight black mini skirt, white tights and black ankle boots. I'm loving the vertical and the horizontal stripes on her blouse.

I'm wearing an oversized 80s striped sweatshirt that I paired with floral tights and a super soft denim skirt.

I feel like stripes have always had a lot of rules around them -- don't wear horizontal, only wear skinny stripes, blah, blah, blah. Ignore the rules. Embrace stripes: the new polka dot.

how we wears it.

Most of you probably already know this (hi mom, hi long distance fan) - but blouse is a two-lady operation. And Jane and I are always attempting to do a better job at photographing our own outfits for the blog -- but usually when we're together, I'm cramming Jane into blouse shoppe inventory for the next look book and for myself, well, it's rare to find me in something other than pajamas.

But - Jane does have her own wardrobe and sometimes I actually abandon the elastic, believe it or not. So, we thought it would be fun to start a little project where we share what we wear -- and, how each of wears it. Introducing -- the first edition of blouse wears: the jean jacket.

It's now officially spring -- the season of awkward temperatures, when getting dressed for the day means being prepared for anywhere between 40 and 80 degrees. Trust us, layers = important. And a perfect piece to keep in the closet is the always classic jean jacket.

Whether it's soft and faded, with elbows poking out through tattered holes or dark and crisp with the cuffs rolled, we love a jean jacket. I paired mine over a summery dress with still dark tights and Jane paired hers with a pair of summery floral vintage shorts.
